40/ Jordan to host Asian Women's U18 Volleyball Championship
Amman, December 18 (Petra) – The Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) has selected Jordan to host the Asian Women's U18 Volleyball Championship, which will take place from July 20 to 27, 2024. The Jordan Volleyball Federation bid received approval and support from the AVC, recognizing Jordan’s readiness to host this major event and its ability to deliver the championship matches in an excellent and positive manner. Jihad Qtaishat, Vice President of the Jordan Volleyball Federation, said, "Based on the directives of HRH Princess Ayah bint Faisal, President of the Federation, the Jordan Volleyball Federation submitted a bid to host this championship for several reasons. These include the full openness in hosting national teams in international, Asian, Arab, and West Asian championships, all of which are part of the federation’s programs to develop the sport, particularly focusing on youth teams, which are the foundation for building and development." Qtaishat emphasized that hosting this event requires starting preparations now, including organizing and preparing the venues that will host the matches and training sessions. He noted the need for two halls for matches and four halls for the training sessions of the national teams, which were included in the official submitted bid to the AVC. A delegation from the AVC recently visited Jordan to inspect the facilities, halls, and hotels that will host the championship events. The delegation expressed complete satisfaction with the Jordan Volleyball Federation’s readiness to host and organize the tournament, which is considered the largest volleyball event to be held in Jordan. //Petra// AF
