37/ Mafraq, Al-Sarhan municipalities to initiate tourist, investment projects
Mafraq, Dec. 18 (Petra) – The Greater Mafraq Municipality has begun the implementation of the "Tourist Street" project in the city, which will cover the street locally known as the "Municipality Street," starting from the traffic light at the entrance from the Army Street to the Railway Park. The work is expected to be completed in this section within 15 days. President of the northern municipality, Nasser Akho Irsheida, explained that the project has been divided into four phases ("blocks") to avoid disrupting traffic in the remaining sections. The traffic in the first block has been closed off with concrete barriers, and the entire project is expected to be completed within two months. He noted that the implementation involves removing the existing asphalt, pouring concrete, and paving the street. The width of the street will be 16 meters with sidewalks. Following the completion of the project, each sidewalk will be 3 meters wide on both sides of the street, and the street will be 10 meters wide. The sidewalks will be equipped with lighting units and will feature tree planting to enhance the street’s aesthetic appeal. In a separate development, Ali Al-Sarhan, President of Al-Sarhan Municipality, signed three investment agreements with several investors in the textile, clothing, chocolate, milk, knitwear, and fabric sectors. Al-Sarhan emphasized that these agreements will contribute to the economic development of the municipality's areas by opening branches of factories in the Al-Sarhan Municipality. He noted that these investments will create multiple job opportunities for local residents. He also mentioned that these new investments represent an addition to the municipality’s ongoing economic and investment achievements, highlighting that the municipality is continuing its efforts to develop its growth programs.
