North Jordan Valley, Dec. 18 (Petra) – Secretary-General of the Jordan Valley Authority (JVA), Hisham Hisa, visited the northern Jordan Valley district in Irbid Governorate on Wednesday to review the services in the area. He discussed with local mayors ways to preserve the agricultural land.

Hisa held a meeting with several relevant officials that focused on the main challenges facing the residents, particularly the difficulties in providing basic services such as water and electricity to homes located outside organized areas.

Hisa emphasized the importance of addressing these challenges and highlighted the need to find balanced solutions that meet residential needs while enhancing and expanding the agricultural land in the region. He also stressed the importance of identifying areas for residential expansion and developing a practical and swift plan to resolve existing issues.

He reiterated the Jordan Valley Authority’s commitment and dedication to improving services provided to the residents, ensuring a balance between population growth and the preservation of agricultural and environmental resources as well as enhancing cooperation with municipalities and local communities to provide sustainable solutions and identify non-arable land that can be used for housing.
