  27/ FM receives phone call from European Commissioner for Mediterranean

Amman, Dec. 18 (Petra) – Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and Expatriate Affairs, Ayman Safadi received a phone call on Wednesday from the European Commissioner for the Mediterranean, Dubravka ?uica.

During the call, Safadi and ?uica emphasized the strong and enduring partnership between Jordan and the European Union, expressing their commitment to further expanding cooperation across various sectors.

Safadi, who congratulated ?uica on her new responsibilities within the EU, highlighted Jordan’s deep appreciation for its relationship with the European Union and valued the support provided by the EU to the Kingdom.

The two officials underscored the importance of ongoing discussions to finalize the Strategic Partnership Agreement as soon as possible.

They also discussed enhancing cooperation within the framework of the Union for the Mediterranean, jointly chaired by Jordan and the EU, as well as efforts to secure a permanent ceasefire to end the aggression on Gaza and facilitate the delivery of aid to the Strip.

Additionally, they reviewed developments in Syria, stressing the importance of Syria’s stability and security.

Both sides reaffirmed their support for launching an inclusive political process led by Syrians to rebuild the country on principles that preserve its unity and sovereignty while guaranteeing the rights of all its citizens.

Safadi and ?uica agreed to maintain communication and work on further strengthening relations in various areas.
