Amman, December 18 (Petra) - Chairman of the Lower House Economy and Investment Committee, Khaled Abu Hassan, stressed the importance of the Kingdom's Economic Modernization Vision (EMV), launched by His Majesty King Abdullah II in 2022, aimed to enhance economic growth and reduce unemployment rates.

Chairing a committee meeting Wednesday, the lawmaker praised the government's efforts to enhance Jordan's trade exchange with Syria, stressing the endeavor to "fully" open Ramtha border crossing to support the trade movement and enhance the two countries' economic cooperation.

The vision, he noted, came in direct response to the "accumulated" challenges of geopolitical crises and repercussions of the Covid pandemic, which caused unemployment rates to reach unprecedented levels regionally and globally.

The MP said the world has begun to recover from these crises by implementing innovative solutions, which is the Kingdom's goal to carry out the vision.

The current stage represents a "historic" opportunity for Jordan to achieve a "stronger and more resilient" economy, he pointed out.
