34/ Israeli army kills 2 Palestinians, arrests 12 in occupied West Bank
Ramallah, Dec 17 (Petra) -- Israeli occupation troops shot and killed two Palestinians on Tuesday near the town of Qalqilya, north of the occupied West Bank, the Palestinian Red Crescent Society said. It said in a statement that its crews received the two bodies at the separation wall in Sufin, east of Qalqilya, and transferred them to Qalqilya Governmental Hospital. The Israeli occupation army also arrested 12 Palestinians, including ex prisoners, and demolished homes and commercial and agricultural facilities during raids across the West Bank. The Palestinian Prisoners' Affairs Authority and the Palestinian Prisoners' Club said in a statement that the search-and-arrests raids took place in Hebron, Ramallah, Nablus, Bethlehem, and Jerusalem. It said the latest arrests in the West Bank, including Jerusalem, have taken to over 12,100 the number of those detained since the war on Gaza began on October 7, 2023. However, prisoner affairs institutions and NGOs could not determine the exact number of detentions in Gaza, which runs in the thousands, due to enforced disappearances by the occupation authority, said the statement. Elsewhere in the West Bank, Israeli bulldozers demolished a carpentry shop and agricultural and commercial facilities in the village of Deir Ballut, west of Salfit. In Jericho, Israeli forces demolished two tourist villas and destroyed crops in the village of Nuweimeh and issued over 70 demolition orders for homes and facilities in the area, according to the local mayor. //Petra//SS
