19/ SSC extends interest waiver on scheduling late subscriptions on tourism sector
Amman, Dec. 17 (Petra) -Board of Directors of the Social Security Corporation (SSC) decided to approve the extension of interest waiver on scheduling late subscriptions for tourism sector establishments until December 31, 2025. The SSC also allowed the benficiary businesses to instal the principal amounts for a period of up to 180 months at 0% interest. In a statement, the SSC said the move is based on directives of Prime Minister Dr. Jaafar Hassan and in implementation of the government's commitments in the ministerial policy statement at the Lower House of Representatives to support the Kingdom's tourism industry. The step, the SSC noted, aligns with the Economic Modernization Vision (EMV) to achieve the desired economic growth. In press remarks, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Lina Ennab, said the ministry is continuing to follow up on possible measures to mitigate the damage to Jordan's tourism sector to help ensure its sustainability, in collaboration with all stakeholders. The decision comes within the framework of the ministry's follow-up on a slew of measures aimed at alleviating the impact on the tourism sector due for regional events. The statement added that the step would also sustain this industry as the "main" supporter of the national economy and an "important" driver in implementing the EMV. //Petra// AG
