Amman, Dec. 16 (Petra) – Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and Expatriate Affairs, Ayman Safadi, on Monday described as "a historic moment" the overthrow of the former Syrian regime.

"This is a historic moment in the brotherly country of Syria, one that requires all of us to stand with the Syrian people, to help them embark on a historic achievement in building a future shaped by Syrians themselves, ensuring Syria's security, unity, stability, sovereignty, and the rights of all Syrians," Safadi said in a post on his official X account.

"The Aqaba meeting is a reaffirmation of respecting the Syrian people's choice and their will to rebuild Syria, its institutions, and a political system that Syrians agree upon. This system should represent all Syrians and restore Syria’s security, stability, and role," the post explained.
