41/ Israel destroys demolishes of facilities, homes, seizes 47 dunums of land across West Bank
Ramallah, Dec. 16 (Petra) – Israeli occupation forces demolished dozens of facilities and homes in areas across the West Bank and seized 47 dunums of land in Qalqilya. Israeli authorities demolished 14 homes, warehouses, and parking facilities on Monday in the towns of Silwan and Anata in Jerusalem Governorate, according to a governorate statement. It added that the occupation municipality in occupied Jerusalem issued demolition orders for homes and facilities in the Al-Bustan neighborhood and rejected residents’ submitted zoning plans. This is part of a plan to establish the so-called "King's Garden," aiming to forcibly displace the local population. The Israeli occupation authorities seized 47 dunums of land in Qalqilya to expand a settlement road. According to a statement from the Habla Village Council, the targeted land lies between Qalqilya city and the village of Habla to its south. The occupation aims to expand a settlement road serving the "Alfei Menashe" settlement, built on lands belonging to the villages of Habla, Wadi Al-Rasha, Ras Atiya, Al-Dabaa, and Ras Tira, south of Qalqilya. The Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission reported that last month, occupation authorities seized 177 dunums of Palestinian lands in Salfit and Nablus through two military orders. Additionally, Israeli bulldozers demolished agricultural greenhouses in the Deir Al-Ghusoun – Attil plain, north of Tulkarm in the northern West Bank. Occupation forces also demolished a house under construction and more than 40 shops and commercial establishments in the town of Al-Ramadin, south of Hebron. In a statement , Anis Al-Zagharneh, the director of the Al-Ramadin municipality, said that the demolished facilities consisted of a series of stores and shops, which represent a primary source of income for many families. The Israeli occupation also issued stop-work orders for three facilities in the village of Deir Sharaf, west of Nablus. Meanwhile, the Palestinian Commission of Detainees Affairs and the Palestinian Prisoners Society reported in a joint statement that the occupation forces arrested 16 Palestinians, including former detainees. //Petra// AF
