22/ Government Communication Minister Highlights National Media Strategy at Staff College
Amman, December 16 (Petra) – Minister of Government Communication and Government Spokesperson Mohammad Momani emphasized the media’s critical role as a "mirror of the state and a tool for shaping public opinion towards national goals" during a lecture on the "National Media Strategy" at the Royal Jordanian Command and Staff College on Monday. Addressing students of the 65th Joint Staff Course/29, including participants from friendly countries, and attended by the college's commander and faculty, Momani described the national media strategy as an overarching framework aimed at enhancing media performance to achieve key political, economic, social, and security objectives. He detailed the strategy’s comprehensive nature, which involves all media fields and institutions, leveraging multiple tools while remaining adaptable to rapid changes in the media and political landscapes. He further noted that the strategy’s goals are dynamic, evolving to meet the state’s needs and challenges, while consistently striving to strengthen national unity, support core issues, counter external campaigns, and bolster Jordan’s international image. Momani underscored the strategy’s emphasis on education and awareness to confront both internal and external challenges. These include modern technology, the rise of digital media, counter-media campaigns, shifting public attitudes, and the complexities of Jordan's cultural and social diversity. //Petra// AJ
