Cairo, Oct 4 (Petra) -- The Arab Parliament commended His Majesty King Abdullah's role and efforts to reach a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian cause.

The Arab Parliament voiced its full support for the Hashemite custodianship of Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem (Al-Quds Al-Sharif).

He expressed appreciation King Abdullah's efforts to include Palestinians in regional economic cooperation projects, which would enhance their steadfastness on the ground and mitigate their challenges.

The Arab Parliament made the remarks in a session, held in Cairo and chaired by Speaker Adel Abdulrahman Al Asoomi, Second Deputy Speaker MP Khalil Atiyeh, and the Jordanian delegation represented by MP Ali Khalayleh and Senator Ehsan Barakat.

The Arab Parliament expressed its confidence that the upcoming Arab summit, to be held in Algeria, will be an "exceptional summit", in which Arab unity will be reconciled, especially as it comes at a defining moment in which the region needs to strengthen Arab solidarity and coordinate joint Arab efforts.
