Washington, Oct 4 (Petra) -- Oil prices rose during trading Tuesday amid fears of global supply shortage after news that "OPEC" is considering reducing production by more than one million barrels per day, according to the Wall Street Journal.

The dollar index decreased by 0.2 per cent to 111.8 points and recorded the highest level at 112.5 points and the lowest at 111.4 points.

US "NYMEX" crude futures for November delivery rose 5.2 per cent to $83.5 a barrel, and Brent crude futures for December delivery rose 4.3 per cent to $88.77 a barrel.
