7/ 41,000 vehicles cleared from Zarqa Free Zone in 9 months
Amman, Oct. 3 (Petra) -- A total of 40,500 vehicles hit the Kingdom's roads in the first nine months of 2022. Gasoline-powered vehicles cleared from Zarqa Free Zone amounted to 12,000 by the end of last September, followed by 11,700 electric vehicles, 9,400 hybrid vehicles, and 7,400 diesel-powered vehicles, according to Muhammad Bustanji, president of the Jordanian Free Zones Investors Association. He added that the clearance rate in the first nine months of the current was in the ballpark of last year's, noting that some 33,000 vehicles were re-exported from the Zarqa Free Zone in the January-September period of 2022, compared to 37,000 in the reporting period of 2021. Clearances of gasoline- and electric-powered vehicles are similarly increasing, he said, while indicating a lower demand for hybrid vehicles due to high costs. He added that clearances of diesel vehicles remained as usual. //Petra// AO
