Amman, October 3 (Petra) -- The Jordan Securities Commission (JSC) is set to participate in the World Investor Week (WIW), which runs between 3-9 November, and is organized by the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO).

The WIW aims to enhance investment awareness and develop the investment culture among small investors, newcomers to investing in the financial market, in addition to workers in the financial services sector (such as brokers and others), and officials of joint stock companies.

By participating in this event, the JSC seeks to promote the safe investment environment that was formed by a set of legislation and legal and regulatory frameworks aimed at protecting investors from risks and fraud, leading to sustainability and keeping pace with best practices in this field.

The JSC participates in this event through a series of awareness and educational activities along with many of the counterpart agencies and entities that are members of the IOSCO.

Activities include publishing awareness messages, audio lectures and short videos, activating channels for chatting and inquiries, sharing links to educational activities for counterparts, and guides on how to deal with margin, corporate governance and publishing on the JSC’s website and social media accounts.

The WIW focuses on the importance of following up on companies' disclosures and obtaining appropriate financial information in the planning process that seeks to make a sound investment decision capable of achieving the desired goals to improve the performance of securities dealers on a systematic basis.

As part of the WIW's activities at the international level, the JSC participates in the four virtual seminars that will be held from 4-7 of October.

The JSC invites those interested in investing in securities to register and participate in the seminars through links announced on its website and social media accounts.

The WIW is a global campaign to raise awareness of the importance of investor education and protection.
