23/ Cabinet issues slew of decisions
Amman, Oct. 2 (Petra)- A Cabinet session, headed by Prime Minister Dr. Bishr Khasawneh, on Sunday approved the mandating reasons for a draft bylaw amending the administrative organizational structure of Independent Election Commission (IEC) for 2022. The bylaw aims to create an IEC-based administrative unit concerned with empowering women, enhancing their political participation and pushing their engagement in public life, in line with Jordan's new constitutional amendments. Under the bylaw, two units for procurement and supply, as well as projects and international cooperation are established. The Cabinet also approved the mandating reasons for a draft bylaw amending civil service system for 2022, aimed to achieve gradual transition in implementing concept of quantitative and objective job-related evaluation in the civil service apparatus, according to job competencies and set employee salaries for various career ranks and categories. In addition, Council of Ministers okayed the mandating reasons for draft health insurance bylaw for Jordanian Armed Forces (JAF) for 2022, aimed to enabling JAF's General Command to develop and expand health insurance umbrella for beneficiaries and subscribers, and develop medical, health and treatment services provided to them. Moreover, the Cabinet approved the mandating reasons for the draft bylaw for practice of legal accounting profession for 2022, aimed to keeping in pace with developments in international accounting and auditing standards, enhancing client-based protection, segregating audit and accounting tasks, and enhancing accountant independence and impartiality. //Petra// AG
