  20/ JEBA explores cooperation opportunities with Germany

Amman, Oct. 2 (Petra)--Board of Directors of Jordan-Europe Business Association (JEBA) on Sunday discussed with German Ambassador to Jordan, Bernhard Kampmann, future cooperation opportunities and mechanisms for strengthening Jordanian-German economic relations.

According to its statement, JEBA directors stressed the importance of strengthening joint cooperation and expanding networks of contact, cooperation and partnership between the two sides' business owners and investors.

JEBA President, Ali Murad, called on German side to strengthen its investment projects in the Kingdom, especially in energy, tourism, medicine fields and take advantage of priviliges granted to foreign investors, including Jordan's free trade agreements (FTAs) signed with many countries and economic blocs.

Lauding the "deep-rooted" joint relations between the two countries, Murad pointed to potential cooperation with German partners to start a pilot project to manufacture green hydrogen and export Jordanian products to Germany and European countries as an important gateway to enter EU market.

Meanwhile, JEBA members stressed the need to facilitate visa procedures for JEBA members at German embassy and called on granting them long-stay permits.

They also urged strengthening cooperation channels with JEBA and German Embassy in the economic field, and take part in specialized German exhibitions.

In this regard, they stressed the need to intensify JEBA's cooperation with German embassy and discuss possibility of joint cooperation with German- Arab Chamber Of Industry & Commerce and organize a delegation's visit to Germany.

Highlighting importance of employing Jordanian workers in Germany in various sectors, they referred to providing vocational training to enter German market after studying the required needs.

Value of national exports to Germany during the past seven months of 2022 amounted to JD13 million, compared to JD236 million of imports.
