2/ JMD expects fair weather for two days
Amman, Oct. 2 (Petra) -- A slight drop in temperatures is expected on Sunday, but will remain slightly above their annual average, with moderate weather conditions prevailing in the highlands and the plains, while it will be hot in other regions, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its daily update. Monday is expected to bring in similar weather conditions, with low-altitude clouds in the northern and central areas of the country and northwesterly moderate to active winds, the JMD added. A slight rise in mercury levels is forecast on Tuesday, bringing relatively hot conditions in the Badia regions and the plains, and hot weather in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba, while fair weather will persist in the highlands, with low clouds, the forecasters predicted. Today, temperatures in the capital Amman will range between a high of 32 degrees Celsius and a low of 19C, while the port city of Aqaba will see a high of 38C, sliding to 26C at night. //Petra// WH
